“Within moments of hearing Zoubi and The Sea’s set, I was grabbed by their sound and stage presence. They filled the room with nothing but positive vibes. There was an infectious energy in the air while they were performing; something that is invaluable in the world of music! I look forward to seeing them go places.”

A force to be reckoned with, Zoubi and The Sea weaves catchy pop-rock melodies with dark, gritty undertones. Zoubi’s timeless vocals come together with sultry saxophone and dynamic instrumentals for a moving performance. In August 2015, Zoubi embarked east on a solo EP release tour with Devarrow. Immensely inspired, Zoubi returned to her hometown, Victoria, BC to make waves with the newly formed band. Influenced by The Black Keys, Metric and The Alabama Shakes, Zoubi and the Sea is passionate and playful on stage, successfully melding a Tegan and Sara folk-pop sound with jazz tones and a funky rhythm.
Kicking off 2016, the quartet won a competition to perform Song and Surf Music Festival. From there they opened for Jon and Roy alongside The Wild Romantics. Over the summer, the quartet showcased on such festival rosters as Tall Tree, Rock of the Woods, FernFest, and Rifflandia.
In July 2016, Zoubi and the Sea opened for Rising Appalachia who described them as “powerhouses with a laid-back, sauve-jazz/punk-rock sound.” Currently in the studio recording their debut album, Zoubi and the Sea is ready to face the music.
